Dangerous Duo

There is almost no one on the planet that can truthfully say that they do not want their parents to love them, however, most people will not go as far as one young man. A man, Deangelo Jackson, was willing to rob a bank in order to be loved by his father.  His father was not around much when he was little, and this was clearly hard growing up without a male figure. His father, who reappeared in his life recently, offered him the chance to rob a bank with him.  He had done this once before in 2010 and a man was shot in the process.  Jackson now faces up to seventeen years in prison, because of these violent robberies.  In court, his family and lawyer tried to make it seem like Jackson should be considered mentally insane, because of his need for acceptance from his father, yet, the judge ruled him guilty, because he is a grown twenty-four year old in charge of his own actions.
This case really hurt my heart, because I cannot imagine a parent not loving their child.  Also, even though I do not condone Jackson's actions, it is somewhat understandable, because if my dad did not love me I would want to prove myself as well. “I wanted him to accept me as a son,” Jackson said. That was probably incredibly difficult, growing up without a father, and then having him show up and make it seem like Jackson could prove himself if he executed the crime with his father.  Although, the actions to rob the bank and threaten people's lives were ultimately Jackson's, I one-hundred percent understand why his family thinks it may have been mental insanity.
I do not understand how it was the adult's idea, because he is supposed to be the role model, yet there are quite a few similar cases where there has been a father-son criminals.  In Ohio, a man and his son faced one-hundred and four criminal charges, including thirty-two household burglaries.  They allegedly did the crimes to support their heroin addictions.  It is so upsetting when parents support this behavior, and I hope that as people age they will see the stupidity of their mistakes.
