Usher is Ushered

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported, "Usher was ushered to the front of the line when he came through a back door at the Bill Johnson Community Activity Building in Roswell." The news report refers to the voting polls. Because Usher is a celebrity, he was allowed access to arrive late in the day and vote before the many people that had waited for several minutes or even hours.

This news brings up the following concern: why should a celebrity be treated differently when it comes to voting than any other non-celebrity voter? Well, allow me to explain. First, Usher is a celebrity...big duh. Second, many fans idolize celebrities with Usher’s type of fame. Third, what if Usher waited in line? If he did wait in line, he would need a lot...a lot...of bodyguard to protect him from possibility swarming fans who might rip his clothes (and you know how much celebrities care about their expensive clothing). It would easier for Usher to just arrange a time to come a vote without drawing a crowd of fans as he waits in line.

So how does this connect to something else? It connects to the voting polls that took place this week.
