Risks

Everyday everyone is exposed to radiation. The sun's rays, the radiation emitted from the stop lights, even the leftover chinese food in a plastic container you may of microwaved, these are just few of many examples of how much radiation we are exposed to. If people are exposed to such factors, then isn't cancer almost inevitable? If it's not skin cancer, it's lung cancer or breast cancer. At sixty years old, there is always some type of life threatening illness that catches up to you. This is the logic a cigarette smoker has. You risk your life doing daily chores and obligations, so why stop smoking that cigarette?

I feel that even though smoking a cigarette is a poor and unhealthy decision to make, there are many other things that can cause cancer in our daily routine other than cigarettes. People who smoke cigarettes are just an example of how people take risks. Even though people who smoke know the dangers of smoking, they continue to smoke because they are willing to accept the potential consequences when they are older. When people get older though, almost everyone, even non smokers, become sick with a life threatening illness. So, why not risk it? Why not enjoy the present and not worry about the future?

I'm of course not condoning people to smoke, I'm just stating that taking risks in your life about your health shouldn't necessarily be based on worrying about the future, but living in the present.
I guess the logic I have is that we're going to die anyway so it doesn't matter. This theory I have can benefit or be a problem in peoples lives. I'm not saying "Oh, let's try some meth. YOLO" I'm saying that if you're willing to risk your future and accept the potential consequences then you are good to go and to follow this theory.
