Happiness

Happiness
As I am trying to describe and define happiness and I realized that it is difficult to do or I may not be eloquent enough, so I will just give it my best.
In our today’s very materialistic and capitalistic society, happiness is often associated success, and success with money, therefore happiness is money. Even though I do tend to think like that, I hope to think otherwise. Wealth can be a contributing factor, but it is not a definite formula to happiness.
As stated earlier, happiness is a feeling that I just cannot define with words; it is rather something that everyone feels and experiences and feels good about it. Happiness has no relation to money. Like being surrounded by a group of people that you cherish and spending a good deal of quality time with them is happiness. In this instance, money is not necessarily needed.
To just enjoy oneself bring happiness and there are many ways where one can truly do that in the absence of money. The poorest guy out there may be (even though it is highly unlikely due to today’s demands) the happiest person in the world.
I hope to be a happy person when I grow up like everyone else, but I don’t want the level of success that I achieve from my career to determine my happiness. Of course, material success would be nice to have, but it is just that I don’t want that to control my life. It’s like that little ironic story we read in class about that highly successful businessman who lived a very unhappy life.  I just hope to have good people in my life where we can positively influence each other and keep each other at best.
