Babysitter Faces Murder Charges

On October 5th, Caris Ayala was babysitting five month old Angel Pantoja in the Pantoja's home in Sandy Springs. Ayala called the police when she noticed that Angel was "unresponsive". Angel was taken to the hospital by an ambulance and doctors discovered that Angel suffered severe head trauma and was in a critical condition. When the police went to question Ayala, she said she wouldn't speak without getting a lawyer. When the time came for Ayala to meet with a lawyer, she didn't show up and couldn't be found at her home. "She hasn't been seen or heard of since that day." The baby died that Friday, and still Ayala has not been found. She is apparently on the run with her husband and her own seven month old child. Police have suggested that it is possible that the Ayalas have gone to another country, possibly El Salvador.

I cannot comprehend how a person could harm a helpless child, especially a mother of a seven month old child. Even if she didn't hurt the child, how could she just run away and ignore the problem? You would think a she wouldn't run away because she would think about how she would feel if it was her baby. Although if she did hurt the baby, to the point that it was "unresponsive", then I hope karma catches up with her real fast. People who are abusive and neglectful to children make me sick. I actually get disgusted by the thought that people out there exist.

This affects me because since this happened in my area, I can help this the police by looking for the missing Ayala. She is driving a black toyota with the name plate of BKM9384. As a babysitter for the baby next door, I can't even come up with an excuse for how a baby could hurt themselves to the point of severe head trauma. I feel that Ayala is guilty and I hope she goes to prison for life, along with her husband, who is with her..missing. I also wish that their baby is taken from their custody and that the family who's baby died, is doing well. I wish them the best.
