New TV show: Clark Howard, Kids & Money

Money effects all humans on the planet whether they buy, sell, or borrow. Learning how to properly and intelligently manage this flow of money is a useful skill that all people should easily know how to do. But this is not an innate skill that people are born with; they need to learn how. And, how does anyone learn anything? They are taught.
Although some people - including me - believe such a vital skill should be taught extensively in schools, another medium that can be used to teach this material is through television. It just so happens that there is a new television show hosted by Consumer Adviser Clark Howard and channel 2 action news anchor Jovita Moore live from Centennial High School in Roswell, Georgia. This show is “committed to helping students and parents make responsible decisions when it comes to saving and spending money,” said Tim McVay, vice president and general manager of Channel 2 WSB-TV. “We invite you to join Clark, Jovita and Condace for this one hour special dedicated to helping young people prepare for their financial future.”
I believe television shows like this are essential for the next generations that will soon be taking control of our industry and economy. All students should know how to be responsible with their finances.  Money is not a thing one simply avoids, it effects us all.
Another skill that has been taught on television is cooking. Everyone loves food, and there is an entire channel dedicated to it - food network. Most of the shows on this network are to help people learn how to cook. There are "beginner" and "advanced" shows as well, that deal with basic cooking and more formal cooking. My entire family learned to cook mostly from the show "Good Eats" and now we almost never eat out. I know many people that have learned to cook various things through the food network.
Television classes are helpful for auditory, kinetic, and visual learners. You have the sound of someone speaking, the person cooking right in front of you so it's easy to mimic when you want to try cooking the dish yourself, and you also see the ingredients and ways to cut and mix - all of which you just wouldn't be able to have from a normal recipe you would just read.
I believe that television is a very innovative way to teach and it is very effective. Money is something all people should know how to manage because it effects so many aspects of our lives. I am excited for this television show based out of Roswell. I hope it does well and helps to teach the new generations about handling their finances wisely.
