Food.

10/22/12

Cooking and baking. Sounds pretty simple right? Yeah, not so much. I got the inspiration to write my blog about baking and food and what not after looking at the new popular site: Pinterest. Some think it’s as easy as just looking at a recipe and following it. But there’s so much more to it. I like to think of myself as a foodie. I probably watch the Food Network every weekend, and look at recipes online all the time just because looking at good food, not only makes me hungry, but happy, which is strange.

My whole foodie phase began when I was pretty young, and I came across a chef named Giada de Laurentis and ever since then I’ve been obsessed with her shows and many others. While, I do like to cook and bake here and there when I have the time, I see myself as a food critic more than anything. After watching millions of episodes and learning the fancy terms in cooking, I could critique just like the judges on Iron Chef America.

Anyways as I was saying, cooking and baking is not simple. I could go on and on about different recipes that I’ve made, but I’ll just describe something I made this weekend so your mouth can water and you’ll go searching for food.

So this weekend, I decided to make peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. In order to have the perfect cookie, you have to eat them right after they come out of the oven so it’s still nice and warm. So that’s what I did, and the cookie had a nice crunchy texture surrounding it. But once you got in to the middle, the chocolate started to melt and ooze out. It had a perfect balance of sweet and salty, and it was soft in the middle, then the crushed up peanuts gave the cookie a slight crunch and chew.

There are so many recipes out there in the world, and I hope to try and make all the ones I’ve bookmarked and saved and share it with my family and pass on a number of recipes. Not only does food make me happy, but it can also bring together families around the dinner table which is the most important thing.
