Last Saturday in Augusta, a man's
ear was bitten off by his son-in-law during a family feud. It turns out that
Jonathan Collins(29) and Frederick Harrison(52)'s 30 year old daughter started
arguing because she made a sandwich for another man at a party. Jonathan
Collins punched Frederick Harrison in the face, as the argument heated up.
Harrison's ear lobe was reattached, and Collins was charged for aggravated
battery. This is probably on the weirder side of the American news. Sad thing
is, these weird things come on the news quite often.
I
remember hearing about a man arrested for trying to eat somebody (or maybe chew their face off, I can't quite remember exactly) in metro
Atlanta, not too while ago. After this, a lot of people were concerned about
zombies, and words about zombie warnings have spread. Even the CDC had to make
clear to the people that such things as zombies are nonexistent and they
shouldn't be a concern. News about this were all over Youtube, and I found
myself in the Youtube loophole (of the related videos tab) the other day. I was watching other
zombie "prank" videos for on and on. These things really amaze me of
how ridiculous people can get. Really? Zombies? I can understand that people
find zombies interesting and amusing, but I think it's totally ridiculous to
actually believe in it. Biting earlobes off aren't any different from the
zombie incident. Seriously, who's gonna bite somebody's ears off, just because
they got mad, arguing over a sandwich? I can understand that a person can get
really mad and do things that the person wouldn't normally do when they lose
rationality, but biting somebody's ears off seems a bit too graphic and
ridiculous(I don't know how else to describe this situation).
We
all learn why humans are different from all of the other animals, but news like
these definitely don't support the biology textbooks. Being an extremely
hotheaded person myself, I can understand that people do things when they lose
their rationality, but I think people can and should behave much better. Or
it's just me that feels unfair because I don't get to do things I want to do
when I'm mad. Either way, this whole thing is completely wrong.
