Honor Code.. but for Teachers?

Cheating seems to be a serious problem for students, and even teachers are joining the chaos. Several anonymous people sent complaints to the Atlanta school district saying that the teachers at North Atlanta High School are changing students' grades and committing fraud. The district is unsure whether teachers have been changing test grades, final grades on report cards, and/or mid-term exams. The school system is under heavy criticism, because just three weeks ago, the principle and five other North Atlanta High administrators have been replaced with Superintendent Errol Davis. The way Errol Davis became Superintendent is controversial, and many parents and students are criticizing the Atlanta school board and wishing for his removal. He is under heavy scrutiny because the district is unsure whether they should renew his contract (expires in June) or replace him.

The Atlanta Public Schools' Office of Internal Compliance is currently investigating the situation of the Buckhead school. People are very concerned with the situation because back in 2009, the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests cheating scandal led to the implication of 180 educators. Parents are displeased with the sticky situation, but they are happy to know that schools are taking cheating more seriously, instead of simply ignoring it. While parents may be satisfied, students are furious, and about 200 North Atlanta High students walked out Wednesday afternoon in protest.

Cheating is not the only issue at hand; reports of racial discrimination recently surfaced at the school. North Atlanta High is under a ton of pressure this school year.
