Crime is Consuming.

Recently, I have gotten back into watching one of the infinite number of crime shows: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. I used to be obsessed with this show and because of the heavy load of school work I experienced when I entered high school, I just gradually stopped watching. But, like every other high school student, I have succumbed to my urge to waste time and procrastinate on everything for the sake of watching these crime shows.

I don't even know why I am so intrigued with them, they just hook me like a helpless fish in the water. Normally, people cringe at the graphic images and the logical fallacies that they use up to make their deductions in their investigations, but I love them. I laugh at all the unreasonable explanations the processors come up with to bring their ideas to life. And I must have a strong stomach, cause during the autopsy is when my heart starts pumping the fluid of excitement through my veins and I feel the rush of blood to my brain. It's intoxicating, really.

But perhaps what sucks me in the most is the fact that these crimes seem so real to me, and it terrifies me. I can watch a horror movie with all the gruesome details like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and I'll be perfectly fine before, during, and after. But when I watch these crimes shows, I feel like I'm living them. I'm just another witness watching the scene through the eyes of the television screen. Despite the fact that I actually have nightmares about people killing me or witnessing a killing because of these shows, I continue to bore my eyes into the show waiting for the next answer for the crime.

It has really gotten pretty bad lately, though. In fact, I wasn't even going to write this because my priority was to finish my daily dose of CSI: NY. Thankfully, I put myself out of my "crime scene hypnosis" and I wrote. But I'm glad that I'm doing this again. That is, taking a break. But that's another story.

The great thing is, each of these crime shows has a plethora of seasons so once I finish a show, I can go dig myself into another one and do this til the day I die. I'm pretty sure these shows will be around until the apocalypse.
