everyone
knows the whole "some people see the glass as half empty, and some
people see the glass as half full" analogy. personally, i believe that
the saying is way too overused and a little bit annoying. but that
doesn't really matter right now. anyways, the saying is trying to make
the point that every situation can change depending on how you look at
it. depending on your perspective.
i think a
simple definition of perspective is "how you view things". that
definition is general and unspecific, but i feel like perspective is not
something that can be confined to a strict definition. because
perspective is so varied, it's definition must be varied too. it cannot
be contained within the confining bounds of a few meaningless words. to
me, perspective is so much more than that.
i
don't care what your perspective is. i don't care who helped you gain
your perspective in life. i don't care if you have the same perspective
as me. i don't care if our perspectives are polar opposites. I don't
care. everyone is entitled to their own perspective, and I believe that
everyone should have the chance to explore and gain their own
perspective.
the thing about perspective is,
it influences everything. Everything that has happened, and everything
that will happen. unknowingly, people's perspectives rule over every
part of people's lives like a tyrannical dictator. perspective
influences every thought we think, every word we say, everything thing
we do. perspective literally controls our lives. we live at the mercy of
our perspective. our life can be as amazing or as horrible as we want
it to be. our perspective decides for us. it takes the steering wheel of
our lives and drives us to be the people we are. it drives us to make
the decisions we make. without realizing it, people have given control
of their lives to their own perspective. we live as slaves to our perspective.
but what if we change our
perspective? is that possible? or is perspective something that we are
born with? think about your perspective on life. think about how it
controls you. just try and think about how a change in perspective could
change your life.
