Drugs

Drugs can be many different substances: meth, cocaine, heroin, the list goes on.. I would like to focus on the "drug" marijuana. One may wonder why marijuana is even considered a drug. Others may even consider it their pain medication or their way of treating their medical conditions. So why is a plant, that grows on earth's soil, that helps humans medically and can even help mental conditions such as insomnia and anorexia, are considered to be a "drug"?

I question why such a harmless plant is illegal while cigarettes are still legal. There are thousands of deaths due to smoking cigarettes, yet there are no people petitioning to ban it. There has been one instance where there has been a marijuana involved case, and people are all over marijuana's case. The funny thing is, is that in that case, the people didn't die from smoking the actual plant, it is because they smoked so much, in a tight space, that they died from carbon monoxide.

People who are against the use of marijuana have no solid case as to why they believe it should still be illegal. It makes no sense as to why it is still illegal. It would increase the amount of jobs, it would be used nation wide as a medical tool and for treatment. There are endless possibilities that we haven't even considered yet. Sometime soon, I can foresee that the United States will legalize the use of marijuana and we, americans, will see how close minded some of us have been. There is also said to be a cure for cancer with the help of marijuana and heres a link to that, just incase you would like to read it Mr. E: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9NN98CuFGA&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL
