Never judge a book by its cover.

Instead of being judged by appearance, the new hit television show The Voice, solely judges people by their voice alone. Nowadays, there are several big reality singing competition shows like the X Factor and American Idol, but what makes me love The Voice so much is the concept that the show is based on and of course the judges. The show comes on every Monday and Tuesday, and I always try to watch it even with my busy schedule. In the beginning of the show, people come to audition on a stage and the judges backs are towards them so they don’t judge anyone on their appearance. If the judge or judges like what they’re hearing then they would press their button and their chair would turn around. After the person auditioning is done, if only one judge turned around for them then they are automatically on their team. If more than one judge turns around then the judges are able to fight and persuade the contestant to choose them. There are four judges so there are four teams, and the judges are Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Ceelo Green, and Adam Levine. Each judge basically turns into their mentor throughout the competition and teaches and guides them along the way before it is their turn to sing on stage. This way, the contestants are able to learn from the judges and their experience, and learn more about their voice compared to the other shows where they are left on their own. In my opinion, the best part of the show is when all the judges argue and fight for a certain contestant that has a unique voice that they all love. As the show progresses there are battle rounds where singers face each other, and judges are allowed to steal other contestants if they lose. After that, people start to vote on who they think should win the show. As a junior, I do not have much time to watch the show but when I do, the contestant’s voices never cease to amaze me and the amount of talent that each of them possess. One of the many reasons why I love the show so much is because is emphasizes that you don’t have to look a certain way to be accepted. Many people possess amazing talents that are never acknowledged because of their appearance of they’re too shy to show the real them. The judges put a big emphasis on helping to boost the contestant’s confidence and telling them that their voice is a good way to express themselves.
