When you hear the words Auburn University, you probably think of one of the worst football teams in the SEC who can't choose a mascot to save their life. Well Auburn may not have the best football team in the nation but the students have a passion for that school like no other. I have been an Auburn fan since the day I was born and I could never love another school like I do Auburn. When I talk about Auburn, you can always catch me saying "we," because when you commit your heart to Auburn, Auburn commits its heart to you. The story behind our "war eagle" battle cry goes back almost a thousand years to the soldiers who fought on the battle field; we say war eagle to show our players that we support them no matter what happens in those four quarters. Also, no one understands why we roll the Toomer's tree with toilet paper at the end of a victory. At the end of a game, every inch of Toomer's Corner is white with the celebration and recognition of our teams' determination and hard work.
Auburn has been present in my family ever since my grandfather went there in 1954, then my dad went there, and his sister, and his sister's kids, and now my sister, and soon to be me. I grew up with the cheers, the colors, the rituals, and the constant hatred for the University of Alabama. I couldn't imagine going to college anywhere else than Auburn because I am so passionate about it and it will feel just wrong going anywhere else. I believe in Auburn and love it.
